Nimble Arts is based in Brattleboro, Vermont USA where Elsie & Serenity also co-founded the New England Center for Circus Arts (NECCA) where they serve as co-Artistic Directors. Programming includes a multi year Professional Training Program as well as classes for youth and recreational students.

Required First Step in the Teacher Training Series

This 34-hour introduction to teaching skill progressions for beginning tricks on trapeze and aerial fabric also includes segments on learning styles, spotting techniques, injury prevention, basic rigging concepts, equipment maintenance, and class management skills. Note: This workshop is required for application to the Nimble Arts™ Certification Course.

This workshop is designed for those interested in learning to teach children and adults at summer camps, schools, gymnastics programs, or circus schools.

PREREQUISITES: All students are expected to prepare by successfully completing the elements in the required Nimble Arts™ DVD: Aerial Fabric: Beginning Level 1 prior to the start of the workshop. Trapeze experience is not necessary but it will make your journey easier. Age: Adult 16+

PREREQUISITE: Introduction to Teaching Aerials workshop.

This course will guide you though the curriculum created by Nimble Arts to provide clear and effective progressions and spotting techniques for beginner aerial fabric students. We'll discuss how to work with students in special demographics such as kids and older students; techniques for introducing choreography into classes; and identifying body mechanics to trouble shoot skills and progress students to the next level.

PREREQUISITE: Introduction to Teaching Aerials workshop.
Be comfortable executing, without prompting, skills from DVD "Aerial Fabric Beginning Level 2" including cross back straddle, and be comfortable inverting off the ground. Note that participants who do not meet the required experience level will be asked to sit out the workshop and will not be refunded. Exceptions to this skill level requirement can be made for teachers with physical limitations that do not hinder their ability to be competent teachers AND spotters at the Foundation level. (For example: someone in a foot cast with previous experience who can still spot and execute some skills, or someone with a shoulder injury who academically knows the skills required and are comfortable spotting.)

USA (Vermont) June 16-17, 2018: Fabric Teacher Training: Intermediate One

Hosted by New England Center for Circus Arts
PREREQUISITES: Fabric Teacher Training: Foundation Level or Fabric Teacher Training Workshop prior to 2013.

Learn how to safely spot drops and teach complex sequences using elements of Fabric Theory with a curriculum created by Nimble Arts™. We’ll also spend time on creative choreography to help keep you and your students inspired while moving a pace that allows their bodies to develop to the level of physicality necessary for safe fabric training.

Be comfortable executing, without prompting and on both sides, without extensive review, a broad range of intermediate level skills and some advanced skills including opposite side dive (aka flippy/diaper/salto), double star drop (aka ramon), unlocked 360, cross back straddle (including choreographic variations such as Georgia twist), double crochet/double crucifix drops such as tic tock, front balance knee drop, and basic locked “sit” drops such as figure 8 series and hip key roll around. If you are unable to match these trick names to your names or if you are unsure if you are at the necessary skill level please contact Elsie at nimblearts@gmail.com.

We've taught hundreds -- yup almost 700! - aerial teachers in our Nimble Arts aerial teacher training workshops worldwide. We thought it would be lovely to create a gathering for you in an annual opportunity for inquiry, learning, sharing and inspiration. This Gathering is open to everyone who has completed a Nimble Arts aerial teacher training and will be a long weekend of led seminars, physical workshops, open sharings and by request conversations. This event will be built on responsive programming driven by the attendees’ requests. Led by Nimble Arts’ founders Elsie Smith & Serenity Smith Forchion with some of our core coach leaders joining us as well.

Prerequisite: Nimble Arts Introduction to Teaching Aerials certificate of completion

Open for enrollment June 1
Early Registration Fee before September 30: $325;
Regular Registration Fee: $375
Fee includes welcome dinner Friday, and lunch on site Saturday and Sunday (gluten free and vegetarian options)
